This video was not produced under Domestic Diva Lifestyle. However, since I am the producer, I decided to post it here.
I didn’t realize the importance of stationary until it was time to pick my invitations for my wedding. I went online and to party supply stores at first. After looking tirelessly online and in store, I felt that I really needed to speak with someone to make my vision come to life. I had some ideas on the back burner, but nothing “spoke” to me yet. I finally went to The Wedding Salon wedding expo (simply the BEST bridal show) and I saw a gorgeous display of the most beautiful and unique stationary. I spent a significant amount of time at Nida’s Boutiq booth. Her invitations had so many variations, details, unique embellishments (i.e. Swarovski crystals and sand dollars), fabrics, colors and more.
Each invitation represented the couple. One invitation had a rock’n roll glam feel to it. Another wedding had a beach theme. At this definitive moment, I realized that the theme of the wedding is beautifully pulled together with the stationary. Even if the theme is a color scheme, the details in the stationary create the an indescribable cohesion. I felt that it was time that I spoke with someone in person about my stationary.
I went to Nida’s Boutiq in Laguna and had a fantastic consult. I didn’t know that I needed her until I sat down and was blown away by the customization choices. Nida had a treasure trove of examples and themes. In addition to the invitation, I was enamored by the save the dates, programs, menus, table numbers, place cards, and thank you cards.
Even if you don’t have the budget to hire someone else this, you can certainly take on the task and do just as good of a job. Just be prepared to spend the time to do it. Make compromises if you need to. I had my menus and programs created on Photoshop. When it was time for me to send out my thank you cards, I found a decent match at Target and hand placed the little crystals on our name so it matched our theme.
